Micronized Zinc Oxide is a particulate sunscreen ingredient that absorbs broad-spectrum ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. Micronized Zinc Oxide is superior to microfine titanium dioxide as a sunscreen ingredient. It is more protective against long-wave UVA and is less white at a given concentration. This is Zinc Oxide that has been miconized to a size of .31 microns. Used in mineral make-up because this size micron spreads better with less visibility.
